Professional catering with a purpose
Hjälpande Händer (Helping Hands in Swedish) was setup as a non-profit charity based in Swindon run by volunteers. It gives young adults with special needs the chance to get paid work operating a mobile catering trailer or staffing our Kiosk at Stanton Country Park. We involve the young adults in all aspects of the business and at the same time hope they will have fun and enjoy the atmosphere of the various events.
Paid employment for young adults with special needs
Are you interested in working on our Catering Trailer or staffing Stanton Park Kiosk on weekends/holidays and getting paid for your efforts?
We can offer varied roles at different events, mostly during the summer or at weekends and aim to pay the Real Living Wage (currently £13.50 per hour).
Our Mobile Catering Trailer
Designed for a wide array of outdoor events, our catering trailer is fully equipped to offer speciality coffees and teas, soft drinks, snacks, crepes, etc.
We can cater for virtually any size of event and in the past have catered at music festivals, car shows, village fetes, outdoor cinemas, Christmas markets, Fun Runs, plus many more.

Stanton Country Park
Since 2023, we have been operating the catering Kiosk at Stanton Country Park in the North of Swindon on weekends and Bank Holidays. The Park is a 74 hectare nature reserve with free parking, dog friendly trails, extensive woodland and a large lake.
We offer hot and cold drinks, snacks and a wide variety of ice creams. Next to the Kiosk is an indoor cafe operated by the wonderful charity, Every Cloud.
Volunteer
All of our young adults need to be supported by a suitable adult and we are always on the lookout for volunteers who can fill that role. Our employees have a wide variety of needs and will fulfill roles based on their abilities, interests and confidence.
